I like everything not called Country or Opera. My first love of music was anything featuring electric guitar. Bands like Rush, Van Halen and Led Zepplin influenced my tastes alot growing up. I was witness to the birth of Rap/HH in the early 80s and that further grew my appreciation for the "outside the box" sounds and styles. It wasn't until the 90s and into the 2000's that what I consider a perfect blending of Rap, Rock and Electronica really took shape.
I seem to go through phases in my musical tastes but always seem to return to them at some point further down the line. I was heavily into industrial when Skinny Puppy and Ministry where at the forefront. I saw NiN live when they were still opening acts. I grooved to Massive Attack when trip-hop was still considered avante'guard and underground.
I recognized artists like Van Dyke and Fatboy Slim as true artists and not just acts or producers. I'm not much into the newer alternative/guitar acts but my wife and kids are so I support them.
