Old enough to know better, young enough to remember the thrill of discovering all the music that moves me, and still keeping my eye out for more.
Hated yet loved the 80's as being the ideal time to ignore the pop-shite that was all over the airwaves so that I could ravage my parents old albums and play catch-up for all that had come before in the 60's and 70's... Definitely survived on a diet of U2, REM and pre-Hagar Van Halen before the decade let itself out into GunsNRoses, Nirvana, STP & Pearl Jam...and finally the discovery of one my all time fav bands: Radiohead (next to the Beatles of course).
Still get down with the classics, Zeppelin, the Who, Hendrix, Yes(early), and early Motown (not to mention the 50's and 60's stuff my father played covers of for a living). Lately listening more to mellower things, Ray LaMontagne, Nora Jones, Counting Crows, Coldplay, Iron&Wine, Jack Johnson, Fiona Apple and others.
Glad to see there's a resurgence in the singer-songwriter genre (Aqualung, Regina Spektor, Alexi Murdoch & others)...
Drop me a line with any morsels worth listening to - I'm always happy to be turned on to the choicest bits.
