I have eclectic tastes in music. I've loved music all of my life. I play piano- jazzish mostly, but have studied classical 9 years. I love Motown and Neo Soul. I just copyrighted 7 of the 11 songs I've written. A very NEW LOVE.....writing tunes...wherever they take me. I also teach piano at a studio and do mostly private gigs. My students range from 5 years old to adults. My most advanced student just tore the house up--at his first School of Rock Showcase--he's been writing. He and I collaborated on his first song-- I wrote my first lyrics for that tune. Lyrics...not as easy for me. Another student was adjudicated a few months ago. Sadly, due to economy, she had to discontinue private lessons.. She is 10 years old and received 4 SUPERIOR AND 2 EXCELLENT evaluations. That was her first performance and the adjudicator even complimented her on her performance etiquette! I love working from lead sheets--which allows a lot more freedom in playing. I also have decent relative pitch and love learning tunes that way. I've just written my first 11 songs in a year's time. A huge, but necessary, OBSTACLE that took my time away from music IS GONE! Listening .....intently to R&B today....tomorrow, who knows what will strike my mood! It's all good, IF it's done well.
