The music of the Fusion/Jazz/Rock era continues to be my favorite: Evolving from the Allman Brothers & Moody Blues & Santana to "listenable jazz" like the Crusaders, Brian Auger, quickly becamse obsessed by Miles and his "tree". I was so lucky to see Miles, Weather Report, Mahavishnu, Return to Forever, Herbie Hancock Sextant & Zappa live in small venues. My taste expanded to include Coryel, Passport, Oregon, Soft Machinem, Jean Luc Ponty,Flora & Airto; Paul Winter Consort. Cannonball Adderly, Noel Pointer, Passport, Benson (early) , Donald Byrd, Michael Urbaniak, Milton Nacimento, Wes Montgomery, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Lonnie Liston Smith, McCoy Tyner, Grover Washington& Catalyst - all of which I listen to still today. No one can tell me that anything since the early 70's was better, although I am enjoying Garaj Mahal recently- I would hope to see them live.
This music is still "live" to me
