47 (oops, 49 now), married, boring, getting fatter and dumber every day. Still hoping to be cool, though, and looking for new stuff with decent melodies and talented songwriting from the gut without a lot of affect in the voice. Also getting increasingly nostalgic and old-f*rty (bought an Easy Listening CD, ffs).
In our house while growing up in Poughkeepsie my parents and older sibs listened to Beethoven, Strauss, Mitch Miller, The Beatles, Doors, Iron Butterfly, Herb Alpert, Nat King Cole, Jonathan Winters (the comedian), Vanilla Fudge, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Boz Scaggs, Handel, Hayden, Mozart, Kinks, Blood Sweat & Tears.
I've "liked" a few songs I actually can't F***ING stand because they're essential to a complete nostalgic experience, e.g., crap by Journey, Asia, Foreigner, Styx, Duran Duran, REO Speedwagon, and other tripe. Nome sane? So don't gimme no sh*t.
