•About me: My name is Jeriel (pronounced like "ærial" with a J in front of it); I'm an eighteen-year-old guy, and I'm a Christian-turned-Atheist by the wondrous power of true limitless love. My favorite artist: Eminem. My favorite band: Coldplay. My hobbies: poetry (both reading and writing), basketball, tree-climbing, reading (in general), and swinging—as in, on park swings. (Oh, and if anyone dares to do wrong to my special friend on here, @xtori.wolverine, then I'll intervene—with justice.)
•About FLEJ: FLEJ ("pronounced like "fledge") is my self-conceived cause. It stands for "Freedom, Liberty, Equality, and Justice", and it is an idea created out of great moral and civil concerns in America. Those who stand for and support FLEJ may assume the subtitle of "FLEJ-lings". This name stems from both the pronunciation and literary similarities between the word "fledge" and the acronym "FLEJ": A "fledgeling" is a young bird which has just fledged—just recently gotten its feathers, which help it to fly and survive. Likewise, a "FLEJ-ling" means someone who has attained and recognized that which he/she needs to survive (to fly): mainly, free will and liberty (the wings), which are strongly supported by FLEJ (the breeze). FLEJ is an initiative—a hope—which I will faithfully endeavor to put into the law and politics of the United States of America, after (hopefully) serving my time as a U.S. Marine, and gaining the knowledge and all-around knowhow required for such an undertaking. I do not expect it to be easy to get this done; but I am so very sick of watching the wrong things be done, without effective opposition to the wrongdoers/wrongdoing. I also hope to inspire others to continue my cause if/when I am unable to do so myself.
These four principles of FLEJ are the basis and foundation of a good and just government (which the U.S. has been lacking for well over a hundred years); and if they all are striven for, instituted, and defended, the ultimate good may then come to the fore: LOVE. After all, what is the secret to L.I.F.E.? Love Is For Everyone. It's the truth. The "Freedom" part of FLEJ deals with the abolition of child abortion and related practices in the U.S.; the "Liberty" part refers to the problem of youths' being denounced/disrespected because their religious beliefs & opinions (whatever they may be) are not shared by others, mainly adults—and especially authoritative adults, such as parents, teachers, etc.; the "Equality" part applies to the honoring and respecting, on an equal and just level, of "non-conventional" members of society, i.e., those whom history has often thought of as "abnormal", "inferior", "wrong", "perverted", and all manner of wrong and offensive labels—specifically, other-than-heterosexual, and other-than-white, peoples and relationships; and last but not least, the "Justice" part focuses on the plight of abuse victims of whatever type: physical, sexual, emotional, and so on. (I have an especial soft spot for abuse victims, by the way.)
