I am 45 years old now and as usually happens I've grown much more eclectic, happily.. I don't listen to the radio a lot anymore that much. But I'll hear sounds on a film I watch or at someone else's house and grab on to them that way. Growing up it was classic rock and metal mostly and some of what we considered "rock" kids today would put on and hear country; Skynyrd, 38 Special, the Eagles, etc. AND by the same token; country sounds like southern fried rock.
I have a taste for alt bands of the 90's and the dance music of the mid 2000's. I'm way into acoustic artists . My son found a great version of Joni's Mitchell's ballad , by Perfect Circle." What I've found I love most of late, besides my classic rock, is modern bluegrass. Nickel Creek and The Wailin' Jennies are two bands I really like very much. I have a deep love for my Irish heritage and this music is founded on that.
