Karter Kay is my given name. I have always used Karter, and I can't imagine identifying with any other name. My mother wanted something unusual that sounded "pretty". She calls me Karter Kay. No, she didn't want a boy; he would have been named Brock James. She hates it when I tell people she must have had post baby blues when she named me. My Great Grandmother , with whom I spent a lot of time with when I was growing up, always called me Karter Kay, so most of my relatives call me Karter Kay. However, my father calls me Scooter, or Scoot. Always has - probably always will.
A lot of friends I grew up with in MN call(ed) me KK - which was o-K with me because when I grew up the "banana fana" (name game) song was very popular. I didn't like being called farter. Carter's baby clothes and little kids underwear were advertised often. There were Carter's little liver pills ;( Then Jimmy Carter became president! These were the worst times to be named Karter. I was teased a lot! I know everyone gets teased about their name, but I grew up in MN where everyone was named Mary or Susan. I went to high school with Prince. We never used our last names. Many people call me Kartier. I don't remember who started calling me that first, but it has stuck and/or new people have taken to calling me that. CA has been much easier for me than anywhere else I have lived because it is the land of unusual names, it seems, and of course I am older and I "own" my name with more authority. I think I have actually grown to like it. I'll have to tell my mother ;)
Can anyone tell me how to let Pandora know I don't care to listen to live music with applause? i have been listening for some time now & turned down all such recordings & it just can't seem to fathom that it is because of the 'live'
