I grew up playing and listening to music in a musical family, playing piano and toured as a child vocalist. Later on in my career, I promoted and raised money for sports and entertainment, and also performed in film and theatre. Per my education and medical training, I have also worked in health care, in more recent years becoming a neuroscientist. But my heart is still in music. So today I spend a good part of my time facilitating drum circles, speaking and putting on workshops, and playing world percussion. I often frequent open mics as well as will share feedback to emerging artists. I still do some entertainment marketing and promotion, and if the right offer came up, I would make myself available. I have a number of music outreach initiatives I am trying to implement with young people and music, much of this relating to drums, percussion, dance, and pop music. I am also a bit of a writer, and am working on a couple of books. I have written quite a bit in recent years on Internet forums on science, politics, and social issues. I understand the role/impact that these disciplines have in pop music - to effect people, change lives.
