I've been playing music most of my life. I play Bass, upright and electric bass guitar, and the mandolin. I play a little guitar too but I've always been drawn to the mandolin and bass. I guess you could say they are my heart instruments. I've written several tunes for the mando as well as a short film score for the U.S. Department of Interior. The mandolin has taken me from coast to coast and parts of Cananda. I am currently playing Mandolin in a bluegrass band called Lonesome Road which consists of my friends Robby Boone, on Banjo, Shelly Smith on upright Bass, and David Maravilla on Guitar. I play Bass with the Rogers Jazz Society which features my friends Roby Pantall on Guitar, Tomek Siweck on Guitar, Gary Guthrie on Drums and vocalist Felicia Hamilton. Sometimes Roby and I will play gigs as a duo or we will play as the Rogers Jazz Society Trio featuring either Roby or Tomek on guitar. We play private parties, conventions, festivals, restaurants, coffee houses etc. For the past few years we've been hosting a jazz jam on Wednesday nights at the Iron Horse Coffee House in Rogers, AR. Check out our web site at www.rogersjazz.com. I'm a huge fan of Charlie Haden, David Grisman, Bill Monroe, Miles Davis, The Yellowjackets (featuring my favorite electric bassist Jimmy Haslip), Marcus Miller, Sam Bush, Dave Holland, Carlos Santana, Ron Carter, Norman Blake, Tony Rice, just to name a few.
