My music taste is as difficult to define as I am. The first word that comes to mind to describe the music I enjoy is eclectic. Browsing through my personal music collection reveals everything from Folk Music to Hip-Hop, French Pop to Alternative, and Classical Ballads to Rock. It is difficult for me to delineate a particular kind of music that I do not like; rather as with most things in life, I look to find some kind of appreciation for anything that comes into my field of vision. Nonetheless, just as my history has shaped my outlook and persona, my music tastes have been obviously influenced by my experiences. From growing up in Atlanta, where it is difficult for any teenager to not learn to love hip-hop and rap, to having a mother who listens to the same 5 cd’s repeatedly, my musical tastes bear a strong resemblance to the experiences I have had, and at times, in some abstract sense, reflect who I am.
