Hi, my name is James McLaughlin. I am a folk musician and poet from the North Central mountain region of WA state. I love good food and good wine (for which my hometown has gained renown) and fantastic musicians which appreciate the lawlessness of their format. I have recently learned of dissonant counterpoint from a close friend and have thus been entranced by Charles Seeger, his student Henry Cowell and his student John Cage. Domeniconi has always been an enormous part of my life as Li Jie's version of Koyunbaba was my introduction to any of what could be called "modernism" and Dale Kavanagh's version of Trilogy for Guitar is to this day my favorite guitar piece, (not to mention Meng Feng SU's version of Tocatta in Blue!). Anyway, to digress, there is a singularity between God, the Earth, music and ourselves, to live without questioning any of the traditions and teachings proffered would be to repeat the mistakes of your parents.
