Atypical late-50s straight white guy -- zero interest in pro sports, golf, scotch, huge Buicks that seat fourteen, wearing socks with sandals, or driving in the left lane at less than the speed limit with the left blinker on for fifteen miles while wearing a dopey hat. Vital stats: single (widowed once, divorced once, available if), father of two incredible early-adult sons, stepfather to one feline. Had artistic ambitions (guitarist, composer, lighting designer) back in the 1970s and '80s; now just a wordsmith and music fan (though my fret-fingers are itchy).
Preferences: music that's complicated - offering something for the head, the heart AND the soul.
Tastes: an eclectic, eccentric, erratic, selective mix of hard and progressive rock, acoustic and electrified jazz, "new acoustic," symphonic, choral, and other genres... but NO disco, and nearly no pop, top 40, or diva schlock, smooth jazz, vocal jazz, country, or "easy listening" (that being said... every rule has its exceptions).
