I love most genres of music, of course there are certain genres that I prefer more than others, but I do enjoy a little bit of everything. I like how I have very little say over what I like. I can't tell you why I like the music I do, I just hear a song and it feels good. Its like trying to explain why I love peanut butter and waffles (beside the fact that its delicious), I just do. I think my favorite part about music how it can change as you change. How I can take away so many different things and feel a million different ways from listening to the same song a different times in my life and even just different moods during the same day. Its such an amazing media. I love how it brings back not just memories but palpable emotions of that memory. I couldn't tell you what mood I was in last Tuesday, but I can tell you exactly how I was feeling 8 years ago while driving down 15-501 listening to The Allman Brothers "Blue Sky." Its amazing. Well enough of that stuff. Some of the music that I am really into and have been listening to a lot lately is The Avett Brothers. Kind of a new-age folksy, bluegrassy feel. They are great. Richard Shindell, Old School Freight Train, still listening to my classics like Robert Earl Keen, Van Morrison, and Joe Bonamassa. There are so many but those are just a few.
as of feb 2011...some new stuff I've been into lately:
Fitz and the Tantrums, Tennis, and JJ Grey and Mofro
