Music is powerfully emotive. It can stir emotion and memory within a person. Consequently, when I write, I use specific songs/artists to help me convey the right emotion in a scene or the right emotive theme in a chapter. Characters will sometimes have their own "theme music" because it helps to capture their personality. I have always liked a wide variety of music. I am unable to restrict myself to a single genre or artist. I do have my favorites though, like anyone else. Pandora has been my exposure to the world's music that I would normally not find. Also, they have a unique way of finding music similar to what I already like. As a result, I have learned of more music I enjoy. And, I have learned how I listen to music and what musical attributes calls to my ears to listen.
