Been anchored to various forms of "Electronica" for as long as I can remember. The synth pop of the likes of Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman = genius), Duran Duran and Depeche Mode really got me moving in the 80's. The early 90's turned to Nine Inch Nails, Machines of Loving Grace, Filter and other more industrial edged groups. Then I found real house music.
Got into DJ'ing around 1995. With the mid 90's came a lot of really bad music trying to get its slice of the exploding "rave" scene here in the United States. Fortunately, many gems had shown through giving light to a more intelligent dance music community with the break of the new century. The DJ'ing has tapered off as vinyl becomes harder to find locally and I haven't made the big jump into digital realm of CD's/MP3's.
Lately, it's atypical chord progressions, minor chords and dark/dirty basslines that get my attention. I'm pretty open though, and I'm always trying to find new (to me) music. So drop a line if you have any suggestions!
