I like all styles of jazz--from New Orleans to free jazz. About the only kind of music I don't like is classical--tho I do like modern piano music from, say, Debussy on. I have over 700 78s which I still play and still buy. I also listen to some country music and rock. Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Neil Young, Radiohead. Lately, have been listening to Ghost, Joanna Newsome, and Sun Ra. my tastes are quirky. Hoagy Carmichael's original "Star Dust" done in a kind of raucous, honky-tonk style (no vocal), and which I've never seen except on a Sentry 78, is an absolute favorite. have 4 phonographs in the house, including an RCA 45 changer with 45 eps and singles to go with it, a Wilcox-Gay changer that I traded a car for 25 years ago--the car was dead within the year, the Wilcox-Gay with its blonde Swedish modern design, is still going strong, and a Numark turntable that if I can ever figure out will digetize my records, which I'll then maybe sell. I never did like the Beatles much.
