Sacramento - born and raised. I grew up in the 70's. Greatest musical decade ever. So much great music, so diverse. But in the early 80's I started driving to Berkeley for Friday and Saturday night record runs. I would listen to KBLX - 'Soft & Warm, The Quiet Storm' on the drive into Berkely and then I would go to Tower, Leopolds, and Rasputins looking for everything I had just heard on the radio. I would usually buy several albums (oh and a pizza slice at Blondie's - can't forget that) and then I would stay up all night recording my new vinyl to tape so I could listen to them in my car the next day. Pocket Change, Leslie Drayton, Kazu Matsui, Robben Ford, Dan Siegel, David Benoit, Earl Klugh - it was all good. But when I discovered David Sanborn's Straight To The Heart, well that changed everything. Over 500 albums, and then over 5000 CDs later, I enjoy New Age, Classical, World, Pop, Rock, Soul, and Disco, but my one true love is still jazz with a skew towards the contemporary side.
