I have loved since childhood eclectic folk; think Leonard Cohen, without forgoing the Velvet Underground or the Ramones in my younger days. I have a warm and tender place for any and all waltzes. I've danced in shopping malls to waltzes heard on Muzak, but I prefer a touch better. I began a love affair with southern Louisiana some years back and that is a fire burning hot to this day. And there is of course the smoky delta blues, and hot sexy jazz and the great sounds of big band swing, think Benny. And how could I leave out the heat and humor of progressive country (what else is folk anyway but C&W without some of the twang?), not forgetting Loretta or Willie or Hank or George, and how could one not fall in love with Patsy Cline?
As for myself, I'm a 59 year old (10/10/10) male without a trace of a tan. I divide my days between an occasional elderly client (who is currently 96 and who I saw at a dance a few weekends ago, my kinda gal), and a very busy inner city library and all that entails. I've been a laborer, car washer, student, taxi driver, bus driver, entrepreneur, bum and day laborer. I've hitchhiked over most of the continental US and settled in Seattle some 30 years ago.
That's probably enough for the moment. I'll add more as it occurs to me and seems interesting in some way.
