It started off on a Wednesday morning. She was grabbing coffee and saw him. He was spinning on the stool right next to the girl with a tattoo. Scarlett couldn't believe what she saw. Tattoo girl saw Scarlett staring at her, and walked over. "What are you looking at, rich girl?" Scarlett turned the color of a tomato. "I was admiring the painting," lied Scarlett. Tattoo girl now turned to look at the painting above where she had been seated. It was a rather ugly portrait of a poodle drinking tea. Scarlett looked at tattoo girl. There was something about her that made her different. Maybe it was her snapping black eyes, or her short, fiery red hair. Or perhaps it was the way she carried herself. Scarlett now noticed a name tag on tattoo girls apron that said 'Celine.' Celine noticed Scarlett staring at her. Celine strode back to her stool beside him. Scarlett shifted her attention to him. She couldn't believe he was here. But he had promised her. Scarlett took a deep breath to calm her already frenzied nerves. She slowly slid out of her chair and stood up. Her heels wobbled on the bumpy carpeting as she began walking towards him. As Scarlett approached him, she grew nervous. Then she gasped. Scarlett reached out for the wall to steady herself. Celine had just kissed him. Celine then disappeared into the door marked "Employees Only." Scarlett turned, and began to make her way back the exit. She couldn't believe how foolish she had been. However, it was too late to turn back. He saw her, and his face lit up. Scarlett ducked her head, and her blonde hair cascaded over her face, making a golden waterfall. "Scarlett!", he cried. He smiled. Scarlett froze as he walked towards her. She forced out a smile. Scarlett looked into his eyes and in an instant remembered everything they had been through. Meeting her family, falling in love, losing everything she had, and having him beside her telling her he still loved her. Scarlett blinked, and was in the coffee shop, watching Celine kiss him. "Hey." Scarlett was startled back into the present. She spoke for the first time since meeting him. "Hey Darcy." As she said his name, she thought about the day they had first met. How surprised they were when they both held the same copy of "Pride and Prejudice." And when she found out his name was Darcy, she laughed. She still recalled smiling in pleasure when she realized they had switched books.
