I like to listen to music that fits the mood I'm in at the moment. I have therefore chosen some of my favorites to suit some of my various moods.
Debussy is my favorite classical artist (Chopin comes in at a close second). I enjoy classical music when I feel tired, introspective, or relaxed.
Sometimes I feel wired. At such times I like to hear rock music. Fuel is one of my favorites, as well as other alt-rock bands that use driving beats and interesting melodies.
I love the harmonies of Rascal Flatts. Nothing beats good, tight harmony in vocal music. I also enjoy the life themes in much their music. Their ballads make me cry and their more driving beats make me want to dance.
Nickle Creek has great harmonies and a terrific instrumental mix. I love the new bluegrass sound. My daughter has a mandolin, but I am determined to learn to play it! I like to listen to them when I'm feeling kind of quirky.
KD Lang has such a beautiful voice and wonderful music. It's soothing and soulful at the same time. Her music is great for romantic dinners by candlelight, or times when I feel like being alone with my thoughts.
Casting Crowns is one of my favorite Contemporary Christian groups--along with Avalon and Mercy Me. I've always been the kind of person who worships best through music. A song can often reach me and move me more deeply than a sermon (although I like my minister's sermons--he's great!). I sometimes need the reassurances of God's mercies and grace, and positive feelings invoked through music inspired by His glory.
I hope everyone who listens will enjoy my stations, no matter what kind of mood he or she may be in.
