Since the mid-90's, I was introduced and began following the underground hip-hop origins religiously. I am well versed, articulated, and consider myself to be an intellectual; while still having an appreciation for "street" life. This is likely why this genre appealed to me in such a manor. Living in the Philly suburban area, there is no wonder why I go to as many Roots shows as possible. I have an extensive knowlege of hip-hop artists, tracks, and albums. If pandora ever puts the likes of lil wayne on my stations, I will never listen again!
