I sing for beer in karaoke bars. I act, direct, produce, design sets, and generally spend too much time working on community theater productions. I write, having written editorial content, ad copy for radio and print, and technical documentation. I've done graphic design and web development, and know my CSS from my XML. I do football and soccer play-by-play for local access cable.
My musical interests have expanded greatly in the past couple years, partially due to spending so much time listening to other people sing karaoke. Particularly country music, which I had only a passing interest in before, but I'm actually pretty fond of now. Still, my passion musically remains the standards of the era from about 1920-1960, especially as sung by great vocalists like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Williams, Billie Holliday and others. I'm still partial to the music I grew up with in the 70s and 80s, but more as a garnish than a main course. Jazz, classical, jam band, German metal, you name it, I'll probably listen to it in the right mood.
