Will listen to most anything 'cept twangy country; not crazy about reggae but open to exposure. Grew up in the world of Stax and WDIA (Memphis TN) but my fav group in h.s. was Jethro Tull; so folk dominated (but harbored deep love of Prince). From there I fell in love with a capella which I still love. For several years regular attended Newport Folk Festival. Today, my favorite instrument is cello, and I'm fascinated by electronic instruments such as the theremin. Wish I could compose or had musical talent although I can read music courtesy of childhood violin and piano lessons. Loved using music to reach my then-young-but-now-YA son, e.g., see songs from Flocabulary, Animaniacs, The Bobs, Capitol Steps, Saul Wms, Teacher and the Rockbots, etc. Also, fond of re-imagining | mixes (think "Santa Claus is a Black Man" or Ru Paul's "I saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus"), mashups & good political rap (e.g., Immortal Technique, Mr. Lif).
