I am a compulsive rule follower in a land of rule breakers/avoiders/ignorers.
This makes me a default radical.
When you people look at the morning paper, you see the weather, a petty crime, a broken water main and a heartwarming story about a dog. I see a bloody Empire, grown old, dying slowly and in denial. Still strong enough prey on the bodies of weak neighbors.
Music? I like music that helps me paint in the space between what you see and what I see.
If you want to look into that abyss start with:
They'll get you the news and the history. Then hit the library and read:
Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism"
Milton Meyer's "They Thought They Were Free"
Alan Moore's "The Watchers", "From Hell", "V for Vendetta" and "Promethea"
After that read whatever you want because your third eye will be just clean enough by now to head you in the right direction.
As far as the music that gets you there, while you're doing all of the above, just listen to this...
... then while you start to understand WTF is really going on try to keep going to work, watching crap on TV, being "normal", saying nothing and roaming the earth amid the piles of bullshit wisecrack lies without digging your heels in and taking a stand...or going off the rails.
