I’m probably the biggest 80’s music freak you will ever find. I know more about bands from the 80’s than I probably should. My mom use to tell me "if only you would put your mind to something useful". And here I am 2 decades later still as immersed as ever. Actually even more so now. Back then I didn’t have the resources to fly across country to see some band play. And now it’s easier than ever to keep up with my favorite bands and artist (all thanks to the internet). Growing up in America wasn’t easy for someone like myself who was so influenced by European music. Mtv was a great tool for finding other artist not yet established on fm radio. A majority of my music collection at the time was considered imports. Hard to find...and very expensive. A lot was going on in the world then. Now when people look back to the 80’s, they tend to think of big hair and happy music. Even the movies seemed to be based around this happy theme. But perhaps that was all just a way to escape what was really going
