I just started to develop a taste for music. Growing up, I just listened to whatever my mom played which was either oldies or classical. I have really random tastes. Right now I'm into old school R&B like Mariah Carey and Aaliyah, and electronic/indie music like Peaches and Ladytron. Overall, my favorite albums of all time is the Phantom of the Opera movie soundtrack and Fever Ray. I love Christmas music (it makes me happy) and soundtrack music as well.
I'm currently obsessed with Karin Dreijer Andersson of Fever Ray/The Knife. I saw her perform at Coachella and it was the most amazing experience of my life. If you have the opportunity to go see her shows in Europe before she retires later this year, GO SEE HER! It will seriously change your life, I've never experienced music in that way before or heard of any other contemporary artist affecting people in this way:
"its like they were demigods from an ancient, forgotten Scandinavian religion. they descended from the smoky ether of the Universe not to convert us into followers, but to remind us of the power that shapes our reality and that there are still an infinite number of things beyond our understanding as human beings. we must treasure these fleeting glimpses of strange and eldritch energies that hide behind the veil of our mundane lives for they will be with us after our physical bodies have ceased to exist."
Favourite Songs: everything from the Fever Ray album, Heartbeats and Pass This On, both by the Knife, and The Point of No Return (Phantom of the Opera)
