Celeste Woo,With background in English Lit(Implied by the fact you teach English)have you heard yet Tennyson's poem,"The Lady of Shallot",set to music and sung by Loreena McKinnet?It's about a woman cursed by Merlin and told if she looks upon Camelot she will die,a metaphor for those who live in a world of someone else's definition(mirror).She forfeited herself when she allowed someone else to interpret it.Dies realizing Merlin lied.Her own life no longer exists.There are people like that now.
I was working, not paying any attention to the music, when "The Whyle" from Silver Swan came on. After a few moments I had to stop what I was doing and listen. I too have not heard of Qntal before this. I will definitely be seeking more.
The first few notes of "Sleeping" from Qntal told me I was going like this group! WOW! I just know that I am going to like them alot. I prefer music with soft spacey sounds. Looks like I hist another jackpot!
WOW! I have never heard of this band before but it is AMAZING... I will be looking for more. So glad Pandora suggested it on my "gaelic spirit" station; I would have never heard it otherwise.
"Monsieur's Departure" is a poem written by Queen Elizabeth I. I'm an English teacher, and I think it's wonderful that there is a musical version of it, and such a beautiful one. And it's cool that Queen E wrote poetry, too, which most people don't know.
Awesome German group!! Thought they were Irish at first, but no, a German group specializing in medieval type music. :-)

Monsieur's Departure - the first song I've heard by Qntal - is amazing!! At the very beginning, I was thinking "nah," but it kept growing and changing and pulled me in. Wonderful!

Wow... "Falling Star"... what a tune. How can you possibly resist checking who the artist is when hearing this play? Amazing... amazing... did I say amazing?!
I heard this and fell in love, I called my library and put in a request for them to get it, and in the meantime found out that there are about 6 albums by them, not just the one

I saw them perform in Philadelphia in October 2007. They were so good live, that I went out and bought two of their CDs. Beautiful music and check out their music under the band name Estampie...equally beautiful and mesmerizing.

every once in a while I am captivated as though its the first time listening to this station, all over again. I adore pandora for bringing me closer to the artists I never would have known I wanted to listen to.
This group is fantastic. Falling Star just made it into my wish list, man, that was beautiful.
I, too, had to see who it was I was listening to. This group is enchanting and mesmerizing. I love Pandora - one of the best finds I've made on the internet to date. How do you say QNTAL out loud anyway?
