A self-described "new band made up of old friends," the Raconteurs feature the White Stripes' Jack White and power pop maestro Brendan Benson on vocals, keyboards, and guitars, and the Greenhornes' drummer Patrick Keeler and bassist Jack Lawrence as the group's rhythm section. The idea for the band began when Benson and White collaborated on the song "Steady, as She Goes," which later became the Raconteurs' debut single. When the duo drafted Keeler and Lawrence, they became a full-fledged band. Recording together at Benson's East Grand Studio whenever they were available from their other projects, the Raconteurs recorded their debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers, over the span of a year and released it in spring 2006 to middling reviews but a Top Ten place on Billboard's album charts. That year, the band also relocated to Nashville and worked on another batch of songs in between touring and dates at festivals such as Lollapalooza. So, I figured I should post a notice to not do this. Pandora is a website where people can discover new music, not give each other nightmares, for crying out loud!

krisd is a continuing virus goin thru the Pandora website. How can we as listeners stop this menace? I have a solution. Add two drops of lime juice, a bottle of tabasco sauce, 3 eye drops of saliva, a nip of Old Thompson and capful of Mrs. Butterworth to Jolly Ranch dressing and spread on raisin toast and dunk into a nice cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. Jack white's bands are great, and the black keys are pretty great themselves. Why the flame war? I feel this stems from the I don't listen to that music so it sucks theory... and therefore is invalid in any rational debate.
We jam the same stuff all the time Poolside and still love to hear others jam it too. There is no reference to Page or Plant although somehow it has been brought up. They all jam.
lasvegasdoub l e s h o t, that is like saying that all musicians are did not invent their sound, because they were influenced by some other source. This is obvious, it goes without saying. Everyone owes something to somebody before them, but you have to pay attention to the genius that they bring to it, not what was already there.
