The Red Chord

Boston-based death metal/grindcore outfit the Red Chord combine a crushing rhythmic assault and guitar patterns that bite like a circular saw with the menacing but intelligent lyrics and furious vocals of frontman Guy Kozowyk. Formed in 1999, the band earned a reputation on the New England metal scene for their uncompromising sound and style and they were offered a one-off album deal with the independent label Robotic Activities. 2002's Fused Together in Revolving Doors was recorded in a mere three days, but the results were strong enough to win them many new fans, and the band was able to spend more time on their second album, 2005's Clients. Clients was a concept album inspired by Kozowyk's day job working at a pharmacy, where a number of disturbed and eccentric individuals would come in regularly to refill prescriptions, with each song telling the story of a different "client." Originally released through Black Markey Activities, the well-respected metal label run by Kozowyk and former bassist Adam Wentworth, Clients was later reissued through Metal Blade Records, who signed the group to a record deal (and arranged to distribute some of BMA's releases). The Red Chord toured with High on Fire, Hatebreed, GWAR, Between the Buried and Me, and Every Time I Die, and were part of the lineup for the 2006 edition of Ozzfest. Before the Red Chord could return to the studio to record their third album, guitarist Johnny Fay left the group to devote more time to his burgeoning career as a recording engineer. With the new lineup in place of Kozowyk on vocals, Mike "Gunface" McKenzie and Mike Keller on guitars, Greg Weeks on bass, and Brad Fickeisen on drums, the Red Chord set out on tour in anticipation of the release of Prey for Eyes on July 24, 2007. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Kozowyk is now a police officer, so who knows when the successor to FTtTM will come out.
The most rock & metal stations on Pandora Radio!
i love this band they are the band from hell and that's what i like a band from hell.
I was going to the chord's shows back in the days of Dreaming in dog years...they ' v e really gotten away from what made fused together a great among death/noiseg r i n d .
A good, not too "I am going to rip off your head and bury the body in a ditch" band. I enjoy it.
Can't wait to hear it on kidz bop!

Send The Death Storm is such a great groove that I decided to learn it on guitar. Fixation on Plastics was the song that sold me to this band

They need a new genre called Intelligent Metal
eh, not me....

For me the very foundation of the metal I like is the rythm. Its gotta have some kind of flow and direction to it.

This band sounds like a bunch of good songs jumbled up together at once.

I used to feel the same way about Job for A Cowboy, but thier last album sounds really good, with a more focused, rythmic sound....
lol yea i know what you mean. But thats why i like them so much. I like metal that is hard to find a beat to headbang to and it challenges your brain to annalise it. Just crazy technical and all over the place. But i also like more melodic metal too.
Not enough headbangin GROOVE for me. This is a "chaos metal" band. Extreamly talented and technical, there good no doubt.

I just like more groove, and rythm.....fl o w and cohesian.

These guys are just alllllll over the place all the time, to chaotic for me.
These guys freakin' BLOW MY MIND! They're technicality is superb! It took me years to appreciate these guys, though. That just shows how special it is if you can. These guys are for sophisticate d metal-heads, haha.
Awesome band, Pandora needs to get some songs off of Fused Together in Revolving Doors, update that super old band pic and update the bio as well.
robb419
these guys ROCK!
These guys are so nice....play e d in Cheyenne WY and were amazing in Ernies ")....angela ( K e i t h s lady) :)
He Was Dead When I Got There (on Clients) is the 1st song of theirs I've heard, and it rocks. No lyrics, so don't know about the singer.
dont hate on death core. sure they are tech death metal but death core is super good. suicide silence, despised icon, as blood runs black how can you not like thoser bands??
moomoo is gay and TRC is not. pretty simple
DEATHCORE? TRC resent that label they are tech grind death metal !!!!

rayjay92

They suck.
Do you really forge horseshoes to this? That sounds like the best thing ever.
That would be one sick show, especially if you added Necrophagist as well.
Oh and Beneath the Massacre.
I want to see them, BTBAM, The Faceless, and Born of Osiris in the same show.
i forge horseshoes to this.
kamronkhan
such a sick scream
fused together in revolving doors is great and dreaming in dog years probably has one of the sickest break downs i've ever heard, but everything else they have done is f**kin sweet too.
clients is amazing...
prey for eyes is like a metal symphony kind of like btbam colors album.
Robotic Empire, not Activites.
I agree.... Fused Together is their best work by far.
ONE OF THE 1ST POPULAR DEATHCORE BANDS. NOW THERE'S HUNDREDS OF THEM, BUT TRC STILL DOMINATES AND REMAINS ORIGINAL
please get the rights to fused together in a revolving door.....it' s sooooo much better than these two.
Not Bad!
