Redemption

The brainchild of Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Nick Van Dyk (guitars, bass, keyboards), Redemption proudly unfurls the flag of American progressive metal, as proven by their impressively rendered eponymous debut of 2003, also featuring vocalist Rick Mythiasin (ex-Steel Prophet and New Eden), bassist Jason Rullo (of Symphony X), and guitarist Bernie Versailles, on loan from the legendary Fates Warning. For their second album, 2005's The Fullness of Time, Redemption gained an additional boost with the guest presence of Fates Warning vocalist Ray Alder, and broke in another accomplished rhythm section in bassist James Sherwood and drummer Chris Quirarte -- both formerly of prog rockers Prymary. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi

Jason rullo is the drummer not the bassist! Who wrote this??? And a phenomenal drummer at that! Someone needs to change this and give him mis props!
Very underrated band
Best band on the planet

Towering Genius!
This is an example of a band made in Heaven.
I LOVE this band!
Ray could croak like a frog and I still would listen to him
Interesting. "The Origins of Ruin," sounds similar to Nightwish's "While Your Lips are Still Red." The guy even sounds like Marco. The similarities are eerie.
Fullness of Time (which I finally listened to last year) was the first truly emotionally provocative (ugh that sounds so pithy) prog album start to finish that I've listened to in a long time. Loved it and appreciate the scoring and of course Ray's vocals!!! (how can you not?)
hlenard, if you take your head out of your southern gospel preacher's a$$ you'll realize what a giant douche you are.

I agree with Maxhammer.Th e s e guys are the most talented, and interesting band I have heard in a long time.As for other recordings, they have the original self titled "Redemption" , with a different singer, then "The Fullness of Time", then "The Origins of Ruin" I mostly like the two with Ray Alder singing....b u t then I'm an old Fates' Warning fan....

Brilliant Prog Metal !! All Star line-up. For me, this album is emotional and quite melodic in the progressions , the musianship is similar to well-done jazz-fusion. Do these guys have any more recordings available?
Tears will dry.
@hlenard there is a skip button moron!
I do not like this artist nor his music or any one's music like this type. My inquiry about Redemption was actually about a gospel song sung not by this artist but sung by a southern gospel religious group called Redemption. The name of the song is We're Marching to Zion. I loved this song. The music you have played of your Redemption groul is hard rock, heavy metal. It gives me a head ache. Please do not play anything else of this nature (hard rock, heavy metal kind).
Wow, thanks knontokanis, for the Redemption info!!!! I'll look for the Tragedy of Innocence cover art!
Molten music!! WOW!!!!
No kidding! This is awesome! For context, I like Nightwish, Tristania, Within Temptation, etc., more symphonic/op e r a t i c (for the complex story lines) best. A lot of metal stuff is too hard to take, but this is great!
This is a great band and I know the drummer Chris! However, this is Ray Alder from Fates Warning on vocals, James Sherwood played bass on the first album but is no longer there. Eduardo you really need to work on your music info man! :P Regardless an amazing band who just recently finished up touring with Dream Theater in their North American tour. P/S check out www.prymary. c o m for Chris's other work, I also did the album artwork for their new album "The Tragedy of Innocence". Rock! \m/ \m/
