Robi Draco Rosa, also known as simply Draco, is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter whose career spans several decades, peaking in success during the mid- to late '90s. Born Robert Edward Rosa Suárez on June 27, 1969, in Long Island, NY, he grew up in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico. He began his performance career at a young age, joining the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo in 1984. Then known as Robby Rosa, he made his debut on the band's first English-language album, Reaching Out (1984). He was featured on one of the band's biggest hits, "Sabes a Chocolate," soon afterward before leaving the band in 1987. Renaming himself Draco Rosa, he founded the short-lived English-language alternative rock band Maggie's Dream, which released an eponymous album in 1990. He subsequently made his solo album debut with Frio (1994), a rock en español effort released under the billing Robi. His next album, Vagabundo (1996), his first release as Robi Draco Rosa, marked a sharp change in direction. Recorded in England with Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, Vagabundo is an ambitious concept album hailed by critics as a rock en español classic. In the wake of this critical success, Rosa released Songbirds & Roosters (1998), comprised of English-language versions of material from Frio and Vagabundo, and Libertad del Alma (2001), a compilation. In the meantime, he solidified his reputation as a gifted songwriter when "Livin' la Vida Loca," a song he wrote for former Menudo bandmate Ricky Martin, became an international smash hit in 1999. Rosa resumed his solo career in 2004 with Mad Love, an English-language album, and Como Me Acuerdo, a Spanish-language compilation with a couple new songs. Subsequent albums include Draco al Natural (2005), Ensayos al Natural (2005), Vino (2008), Teatro (2008), and Amor Vincit Omnia (2009). ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi

Bobby Rosa, as I first met him when he was a MENUDO singer in the 80's became beloved by many girls and song lovers like me. "Sabes a chocolate" was also in portuguese by Robby Rosa, who made all brasilians jump from their sits and dance. Robby as a Menudo traveled around the world bringing good song to the hearts of peolple. Then, Menudo was compared to the Beatles for having the acceptance of song lovers and by filling up large stadiums around Latin America, Europe and USA. Who would think a

Continued from above-- Who would think a guy like him would become a songwriter after all? Now, is bad news to know he was diagnosed with cancer. So, whatever you'd love to accomplish don't hesitate and go for it. May GOD bless your way!

I first heard of Robi Draco Rosa when he came out with Mad Love. I've been a fan since. Although I am not a native Spanish speaker, Rosa's music translates across boundaries.
Robi has been diagnosed with cancer. I am heartbroken. I just hope he will be fine and we will be able to enjoy many more years of his talent. Beautiful wife and boys, too young to die. God bless him.

Creo que este resimen esta muy bueno pero robi es lo mas grande de la musica de PR. porque es todo un artista... Cantautor, buena voz, pintor, disenador, actor, ebanista y sobre todo, el es todo un jibaro...
I'm listening to his art since 1996,,,,,Vagabundo is the only album i can listen from beggining to end. Actually; his one of the gratest contemporary artist. Simply his ahead of his time!
Currently, I don't believ the similar artists match with the music style of Robi Draco Rosa. Incubus, Coldplay, Midatlantic, Oh My God, The Clay People? What? I was curious what would be put with his music & too disappointed currently. I was expecting more Latino Alternative or Latino Rock. In regard to singing or music style similarity, Coldplay was the closest to similar. MMHernandez is correct. Robi Draco Rosa is better than sex. More albums, por favor.
