Guitarists Matt Hammitt and Chris Rohman formed Christian rock group Sanctus Real in 1996 while both were still tenth graders at Toledo Christian School. With Hammitt handling lead vocals, the duo added drummer Mark Graalman and bassist Steve Goodrum to round out the lineup. The group released three independent albums of power pop (All This Talk of Aliens in 1998, Message for the Masses in 1999, Nothing to Lose in 2001) before signing with Sparrow Records, leading to 2002's Say It Loud, which was produced by Pete Stewart. A five-song EP supplement to Say It Loud, entitled SVERIGEEP, appeared in 2003. The band was busy in 2004, placing songs on two Sparrow anthologies ("Beautiful Day" on In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa and "Promised Land" on Veggie Rocks!) as well as releasing a single, "Everything About You," and a second album on Sparrow, Fight the Tide, produced by Tedd T. The band continued to produce its own brand of earnestly redemptive pop on 2008's We Need Each Other and 2010's Pieces of a Real Heart. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
Me and my dad saw sanctus real at the come to the well tour with Castin crowns and the afters. We also saw them at the winter jam with skillet and peter furlur and some other bands.
Went to there concert it was so awesome to worship God with so many people. Seeing how the Lords music can bring so many together is such a sight. I love what the Lord is doing with this band, and giving them the words to sing for all to hear. Love this music. God bless.
I adore this band... Matt Hammitt and all the other guys are so talented and gifted with powerful lyric-writing abilities and musical skills. The songs always say exactly what I am trying to say or need to hear. I love Sanctus Real!!!

we all hunger for our husbands to show this to us.....
A couple years ago, when Sanctus Real opened their set at the Pulse Fest with this song, it was like calling the crowd back to the stage from the break between groups. Awesome intro, awesome song, awesome band!
There is not one song that Sanctus Real sings that I have not been touched by. They are the most amazing band and obviously so led and blessed by God! Thanks guys for being so faithful!

I saw these guys when I was 15 and have been following them ever since. That was almost 8 years ago... (wow, I feel old.) They've evolved as I have, and to top it off, they're really personable and friendly to their fans. Thumbs up!

I've known these guys since before "All this Talk of Aliens". Been a while since I've seen them but they are men of incredible character along with incredible talent. I'm just surprised that there is no mention of Matt Koehler, the original bassist.

These guys truly are amazing! I have had the opportunity to see them progress over the years. First I saw them on the See Spot Rock Tour back in 2003, then at Creation in 2004, and then in 2007 in Moscow, ID in a very small personal show. And their love for Christ shows in their performances.
