School Of Fish

This Boston-based college-aged quintet outclassed their postmodern contemporaries with a striking, hook-laden 1991 debut. Their sophomore album was less impressive. Frontman Josh Clayton-Felt issued a solo album, Inarticulate Nature Boy, in 1996; he died January 19, 2000 of testicular cancer at the age of 32. ~ John Floyd, Rovi

Few people know about School of Fish and Both of their amazing albums. But whoever knows about them please dont let good music like this die out "Speechless" cmon man this music is (and especially this song) and all about fighting that battle that maybe one day u might not win but everyone always has a second chance, he always forgives but never forgets, never give up..

Keep School of Fish alive by getting their Live in L.A. album, which has a cover of a George Michael tune that will blow you the F*** away!
Look for Josh's other solo albums - he also wrote a book about the time he spent abroad as a teenager. All great stuff.
Among my favorite music of all time!

Anyone who paid any attention to School of Fish, should know that both albums are brilliant and not comparable to each other. Josh has several albums, including Beautiful Nowhere and Spirit Touches Ground which he recorded while he was fighting cancer and also while he knew he was going to lose that battle. The emotion of the music is among the most, if not, the most powerful that has ever been created. Knowing the story, listening to his unique voice, it's brilliant and beautiful.
I have to disagree with the bio's description of their 2nd album. I have both and while it may not be the equal of their debut, it's a great album in its own right, and was superior to a lot of the music being produced by their contemporari e s .
Heard them on KROQ and just loved the debut album. Got to see School of Fish in a small club in L.A. around 1990 or 91. SoF and Josh Clayton-Felt showed such promise. I think he would have been huge if he hadn't left us so early.

I've loved School of Fish since I first heard radio play of Three Strange Days. I had to have that album! It is a frequent visitor to my car cd and my ipod/itunes. I love both of Josh Clayton-Felt ' s solo albums, Inarticulate Nature Boy and Spirit Touches Ground (the second being an unpolished posthumous release of things he was working on when he died). I introduce all of my friends to SoF, and I hope this encourages Pandora users to seek out this great band!
Complicator is one of my favorite SoF tracks. Take Me Anywhere still sounds fresh to me today. Both lps are played quite often in the cd and mp3 player. Most of my friends have no idea who they are. Which is sad, cause they were great. At the same time, I like it that they don't know...kinda like my own little secret!
I saw them play in Tucson back in 90 something at the library cafe. I'll never forget it. They have been a favorite ever since.

I agree, their second album was excellent. I first heard these guys in, I think, 1992 and they've been one of my favorite bands since then. Inarticulate is an awesome album too. I think SoF was always vastly under estimated, though I have a hunch the bulk of the creativity died with Josh Clayton-Felt , impossible to say though. Regardless, it was an unfortunate lost.

I actually look forward to SoF coming up. It's too bad they had to compete with a far more innovative Pearl Jam and the spectacle that was Nirvana in the early '90's. Pandora, I wouldn't mind hearing more SoF.
The bio says "Their sophomore album was less impressive." This couldn't be further from the truth. Where is Human Cannonball? If you think SoF's first album is good(which is great, by the way), wait until you hear the far superior second album.
nice bio....their sophmore album was very good too
