She Wants Revenge

Los Angeles DJs Justin Warfield and Adam "Adam 12" Bravin formed the moody, Joy Division-inspired She Wants Revenge in 2003. A fortuitous combination of word of mouth, industry connections, and airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio and West Coast airwave giant KCRW provided the duo with enough exposure to snag a record deal with Geffen, resulting in a 2006 self-titled release that drew comparisons to Interpol, early Depeche Mode, and the Bravery, as well as their aforementioned eternally depressed post-punk heroes from England. After touring with Depeche Mode, they returned with 2007's This Is Forever. She Wants Revenge then issued two EPs, 2008's Save Your Soul and the following year's Up & Down. This is good stuff! Particularly , as is often the case, the first album. Sure they sound a bit like JD (updated, dancier) a bit like DM, a bit like Interpol, but so what? I like all those groups... wish more people were influenced by them.

I wish them platinum sales. longevity, good health, lot's of love in their lives. To me it sounds like a packed deal put together by a company executive with a computer print out of the latest marketing trends and an eye on a contemporary edition of the monkies
Valleyheart - Not a bad release. I love the tracks Take the world, Not just a girl and Holiday song. The rest of the album is pretty average.

Went to see them in Vegas at the House of Blues. They were opening for Psychedelic Furs (my all time fav band). They flat rock. I'm always listening to them.
I picked them up based on a recommendati o n of similiar artists with the National, Interpol, and Muse. Some good stuff.

Saw them live when thier album came out in a small club south of Cincinnati Ohio. Loved them then and still do.
I started listening to SWR when they first came out in 05. I'm the only person I know who likes this band, so I'm used to it if you hate them/think all their songs sound the same (they don't). What I don't understand is why the constant claim that they are ripping off Interpol? After a year or two of those claims I investigated Interpol and listened to a bunch of their songs. They don't sound identical and if they did I would like Interpol, but I don't.
I saw them live here in Seattle when they released their first album it was a really good concert.... =o)
I didn't like this band at first. They've certainly grown on me. Heh, weird, all the similar artists are bands I like :)
any band that can write a song inspired by Blade Runner can get my vote, but SWR has been a serious favorite of mine since Tear You Apart and Sister...lyr i c s are sensual, music danceable... life soundtrack for this girl!

these hacks are nothing compared to the great Joy Division. The lyrics of Ian Curtis are deep, insightful poetry....no t h i n g like the tripe displayed in She Wants Revenge. Go listen to Joy Division.
