Are you going to Scarborough Fair:
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.

Brilliance together and apart.
There's two people singing it, so one sings one verse and the other sings the other verse. Sometimes they do sing together though. That's why they skip every other verse.

I remember the Vietnam war was raging when this thymepiece hit the air waves. I was just a kid and I thought this song was nothing short of mind blowing...

I don't understand. They don't sing the second-to-la s t verse given in the lyrics.

Incredible!

Isnt the Canticle the part Paul sings. Art sings one song and Paul sings another. Is that correct?
Just taking back to times never forgotten and mourned , heartfelt and innocent
days of community and hope.
Many nights listening to the original album while a kid to put me to sleep.

Takes me back to the budding of the flower children days of innocence.
Canticle is -- A song or chant, especially a nonmetrical hymn with words taken from a biblical text other than from the Book of Psalms

I agree. The studio version is a masterpiece as are many songs off that album. I really love Emily where ever I may find her. I even name my daughter Emily.
Like the radio version better. Not bad, though.
