Socialburn originated in the mid-'90s around high-school pals Neil Alday (vocals/guitar), Dusty Price (bass), and Brandon Bittner (drums). After forming on the fly in their tiny central Florida hometown, the group expanded into the scene in nearby Tallahassee. Listeners took a liking to their straightforward post-grunge growl, and Socialburn was soon a hit at local radio. By 2000, guitarist Chris Cobb had been added and a self-released CD had dropped. SB branched out with gigs in Jacksonville and Orlando, hoping to generate label interest in an area already buzzing with the success of Creed. Another self-released disc followed, and by 2002 Socialburn's work had paid off with a deal on Elektra. They debuted in February 2003 with Where You Are, a workmanlike slice of post-grunge hard rock heavily influenced by Nirvana. Extensive touring followed, with the band joining types like Blue October, Default, and Seether out on the road. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
Alot like Nirvana and Puddle of Mudd, but the singers voice has more of a mainstream feel to it, showing hints of Nickelback and 12 Stones. Altogether not too bad.
the drummer now works at my local rent-a-center and is the coolest guy i know. he says they got too big too fast. but i always loved their music when they used to play at the college we all went to. they do a great cover of creep from radiohead

They do sound similar to Puddle Of Mudd, but there's definitely a different sound in them.
They are a good band but is all you guys talk about PoM, seriously, good band, sounds like but isn't Sorry but reading all comments and see Puddle of Mudd everywhere
How do you guys think they sound like Bush? Sounds like Puddle of Mudd more than anything else. I really thought it was PoM, until I opened up the window and saw it wasent (I keep it minimized at work).
Interesting comments. I hate Bush (both the president and the band). Not because of Gavin's voice but because their lyrics and melodies are retarded. This band got it right.
