Chicago-based alternative metal ensemble SOiL formed in 1997 around the talents of vocalist Ryan McCombs, drummer Tom Schofield, bass player Tim King, and guitarists Adam Zadel and Shaun Glass. They released their debut EP, El Chupacabra!, in 1998, followed by the full-length Throttle Junkies in 1999. Their sophomore release (Scars) found success both nationally and internationally through two strong singles, "Unreal" and "Halo." It was followed in 2001 by an eponymous EP, and later in 2004 with re.de.fine. McCombs left the fold that year, eventually joining Drowning Pool. He was replaced by A.J. Cavalier on their 2006 debut for DRT, True Self. On October 20, 2009, the band released Picture Perfect, heralded by the single "Like It Is." ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
Ryan is back !!!! The guys are going into the studio in February with a summer release expected. They ran a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the new album, and had a campaign only single, My Time, which was emailed to all of us contributors. The song rocks ! SOiL is back !!!!!
I still can't believe that 3 members of this band were part of a bad a** death metal band called Oppressor. It's sad that they turned into this mainstream radio rock.
Soil is a great band. It sucked when McCombs left. I still bought True Self and Picture Perfect nontheless and they are ok, but nothing like the original Soil. AJ is a cool dude though, saw them when he first joined at a club in Manhattan. I got to scream the chorus of Halo into the mic as he held it, good times :-)
kinda sounds like someone trying to soung like rob zombie. kinda funny that i have been listening to metal and all the stuff like it since the 90's and i have never heard of them
i flip burgers and they still suck.nothing special at all!!

this is not bad you dumb dip-s**ts go back to work at sonic or wherever you work, must be nice to make fun of people that are better than you!you guys are idiots.
i guess its better to quit while you are the s**t huh ben page, mike hawk is a dip s**t even if you dont like it you still have to respect the tallent he is problly flipping burgers somewhere, and just mad at himself.
I miss Soil with McCombs, as I like them better than Drowning Pool, but am content following him over to DP. He has a versatile and emotional voice. Of course I miss the "Bodies" singer too, but that's life for ya. I miss Staley, Cobain, Coal Chamber, and pre-Jasonless Metallica too, but it seems to be the way of the world. Nothing awesome ever lasts long.
I saw Soil open up for Static-X several years ago. The next day I went out and bought their album. Freakin awesome band. Kinda fell off in later days though.
