Spaced Out

A product of Montreal, Spaced Out began in 1998, formed by Antoine Fafard. He recruited Martin Maheux, Mathieu Bouchard, and Eric St-Jean to complete the lineup. The group began producing their brand of jazz-oriented progressive rock, borrowing from people across the musical landscape. In fact, they list influences as diverse as Igor Stravinksy, John Mclaughlin, Trevor Rabin, Keith Emerson, and Frank Zappa. In the year 2000, Unicorn Records released the band's self-titled debut. After that album was released, however, Bouchard quit the group and was replaced by Louis Cote. Eponymus II, the follow-up release, came out in 2001. ~ Gary Hill, Rovi

It's amazing how many influences are detectable in this band. Very well put together musically and very well done.

joe satriani on valium. steve vai after chamomile tea. boring jazz wankery. not heavy in the least. it's electric elevator music.

In a word: Phenomenal.
love the guitar work - somewhere between steve hackett - robert fripp and allan holdsworth - overall very nice music - love the odd time changes - I just like this kind of music, its not wanking to me - have always listened to groups lk (return to forever) or the dixie dregs and king crimson aswell. - people just need to open there ears and there minds.
I think the guys below me there have been doing too much wanking.
These guys ROCK. HARD.
The bassist is possibly the best around.
The drummer rocks my world and I'm a drummer.
Too much wanking?? They are an instrumental band dude. On the latest one, most songs have a guitar solo, bass solo and drum solo. Wank away if you're rocking that hard and that talented.

They are similar to newer King Crimson but even more intricate, if that is possible, and even heavier.

The latest album "Evol

Absolutely yummy. It's so nice to have Pandora, otherwise I would have missed such a fine example of the Prog genre.
I agree with scorcher878 - great stuff, but the synths can get a to be a little bit much.

Have only heard one tune so far (Glassospher e Part Iii), but I was highly impressed. I agree with brighthue, probably wouldn't have heard this if it weren't for Pandora! Looking forward to hearing more from these guys.
Another outstanding band I would not have heard anywhere else. Thanks again, Pandora!
Perfect, love it.

The song I heard "Delerium?" sounds like Chick Corea's Electric Band. The bass and drummer are insanely good.
heh, you can always tell who the true prog-heads of pandora are when searching artists like this.

Cool band, though I don't really like some of the synths they use.
