Bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding might well be the hope for the future of jazz and instrumental music. Her album, Chamber Music Society,combines the spontaneity and intrigue of improvisation with sweet and angular string trio arrangements. The result is a sound that weaves jazz, folk and world music into the enduring foundations of classical chamber music traditions. The GRAMMY award winner is currently working on her next release, Radio Music Society, one that will include elements of pop, soul and R&B.
