He played a mean guitar, or so says Ben Folds. Ben was right: Elliott wrote some great songs. When I see him in old interviews on YouTube, he seems barely able to express himself--but maybe there wasn't much left to say except the music. Drugs, teenage angst, rails against his stepfather, suicide and death are constant companions in his unique, melodic songs.
