Contemporary country music is, in my opinion, the rebirth of classic rock as exemplified by Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Jerry Lee Lewis. A couple of artists figured this out way ahead of the rest - Alabama in particular comes to mind.

If it has a good beat, if you can dance to it, and it doesn't make you want to take up a life of pimpin' and drug-dealing or cheating with your bestfriend's wife in the bed of his pick-up, odds are I'll like it.
