ROMY GOSZ, the erstwhile world renowned POLKA KING and his orchestra was the first band I ever heard in the 1940s. When I was about 6 or 7 years old his band played at THE RENDEZVOUS PLEASURE PALACE ballroom in Nueren, Wisconsin which was about 300 yards away from my grandfathers farm where I was visiting. Then in 1998 I seen and heard the then POLKA KING Frankie Yankovic & His Orchestra at an outdoor noon concert in Milwaukee along the river downtown with my old friend John Steiner, who had never seen Yankovic before in his 88 years of being an ethnomusicologist, and it was good that John had a chance to hear Yankovic. It was Yankovic's last band job before he passed away.
