This channel is dedicated to the beautiful, sweet sound of Downtempo electronic music, a sound being played in some of the world's best lounges. The sound evolved out of the "chill rooms" of the early 90's rave scene, eventually finding a perfect home in the chic, high end lounge setting. In fact, Downtempo electronic music is so synonymous with the lounge setting that it is most often referred to simply as "Lounge" music. The sounds of these artists however, bear no resemblance to the smoking vested crooners of yesteryear. Rather what you get here is a sound filled with deep, chilled, gorgeous atmospheres and exotic rhythms dripping with soul.

One thing I love about this form of electronic music is its changing tempos and highly varied rhythms. From slow Hip Hop to House to Drum & Bass and Soca, the rhythms on display here are as varied as the the cultures they harken from. Spanish and Brazillian sounds, Carribean and African vibes, RB and Jazz flavoured offerings are all encompased in Lounge music. It is truly a global sound, and a sound that embraces all cultures of the earth.
