'60s Garage Nuggets

Tune in and be turned on to some of the greatest American garage bands and songs from the '60s you've never heard ! Garage rock evolved from the rock and roll explosion of the late '50s and '60s. Inspired by Chuck Berry, Howlin' Wolf, The Byrds, and the early British Invasion bands, kids all over America began saving up money mowing lawns and working at soda fountains, buying cheapo electric guitars from Sears, and heading into their garages to get rowdy ! The fast, dirty, incredibly raw music these bands produced was some of the most dynamic in the history of rock and roll. They would lay the groundwork for the birth of punk more than a decade later. While many of the original garage bands vanished, the songs they wrote were integral to the foundation of American popular music. Boss !!
