In the 90s, swing was heavily used in soundtracks for movies, cartoons, etc. This ultimately led to a swing revival late in the decade as bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy helped revive a genre previously associated with old people. Suddenly, swing was cool again. This is comparable to the rockabilly revival of the late 70s.
