This station is is seeded with the band that has remained my favorite band since first hearing them in the early 70s.

I had never heard music quite like it (before or since). That first tune was "American Tango". It was like an epiphany...I'll never forget that moment. I heard it on WRVR. A now defunct NYC jazz station. I bought the vinyl that week and have been a huge fan ever since.

The band has had some phenominal members over the years. Zawinul and Shorter at the core are among my favorite musicians. Love hearing Wayne play sax on Joni Mitchell albums. Was floored to learn that Joe had written "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" and collaborated on "In a Silent Way" and "B**ches Brew".

A friend and I competed to find out when they would be appearing in the NY metro area and secure tickets. We made every gig we could. They were one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Omar Hakim was a blast to watch.

Alas...I wax nostalgic. The proverbial proof is in the pudding. Listen and enjoy! Peace.
