Around the turn of the century a new sound emerged from what had become a stagnant breakbeat scene. Dominated by funky Florida breaks, with their happy go lucky, party vibes and cheesy sentimentality the breakbeat scene was in desperate need of an infusion of fresh sounds. Enter Nu-School Breakbeat, a rough, hard edged take on the sound that resurrected the intensity and raw agression not heard in breakbeat since the earliest days of Trip Hop.

Primarily led by UK producers the sound quickly amassed a large devoted following that pushed artists like, General Midi, Adam Freeland, PMT and Rennie Pilgrim (as well as his TCR record label) into the limelight of club culture. From aggressive grooves to, at times, downright ugly, rugged breaks (and I mean that in a good way) this sound is just unstoppable. Get ready for another gut punch, this time in form a breakbeat drenched assault that won't let up. Enjoy!
