I've created this station to highlight the work of American House producer and Nu-Jazz pioneer, Kevin Yost. I first discovered this brilliant artist when I purchased his "The Road Less Traveled" double LP in 2001, and immediately recognized that I was listening to one of the top Jazz House producers in the world today. From the rapturous beauty of "One Day Without Her", to the soft tranquility of "Spanish Holiday", to the unrelenting grooves of his "Bongo Madness" series, Kevin Yost's work is punctuated by an ever present sense of melodic, beat-driven Jazz perfection.

I once read a review of his work that stated "Kevin Yost is to House music what Mozart was to Classical". That is well put, and really true, in as much as both men were/are masters of musicianship and songwriting. Yost's work stirs something inside the listener in a new, fresh way and always leaves you wanting more.

Strangely, Kevin Yost seems to do the bulk of his touring in the Greek Isles and Eastern Europe, despite being from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Perhaps its the combination of this beautiful music with the Mediterranean Sea as a backdrop that has helped Yost's music to find an open audience there.

Anyway, whatever the reason, his lack of touring in the US has meant that I have never had the pleasure of catching this master of Jazz and House live. Perhaps someday I'll get that opportunity; for now I guess I'll get by listening to some of the most beautiful Jazz/House fusion on the planet today.
