with all of my stations i try to achieve a play list that each song has the same first 1-2 comments under 'why did you play this song?' it isn't easy and takes some trial and error. i find that 3-5 songs is all that is necessary and is more accurate than using artists. FYI: if a song structure is listed it is always the first comment. if a prominent influence is listed it will always be the second comment. therefore this is what i have used to strictly base and name my stations. i find that my stations are more useful than the Pandora provided genre stations and am surprised they haven't done something similar using programming.

the character at the end of my station name tells you the following:
- = needs some work = 2-4 out of 10 songs correct
+ = not too shabby = 4-6 out of 10 songs correct
* = really nailed it = 6-8 out of 10 songs correct

also of note my stations constantly get smarter each time i use them because as a matter of habit instead of giving a song a 'thumbs down' only i will move it to another appropriate station as a 'thumbs up' as well. some stations have well over a 100 'thumbs up' songs in their playlist.
